3. Stabilization of the superconducting state
To stabilize the superconducting state as much as possible, we need to work in two directions:
one is to ensure that a localized external disturbance, unavoidable in practice, has no consequences;
the other is to reduce, or even eliminate, instabilities internal to the material, such as flux jumps.
3.1 The benefits of a matrix with high electrical and thermal conductivities
A superconductor is a poor thermal and electrical conductor in the normal state. This feature is very unfavorable in the event of local loss of the superconducting state.
