1. Exterior insulation

Exterior insulation is used for the facade walls of new buildings or those undergoing renovation. The principle of this insulation system (figure 1 ) offers several advantages:

  • it ensures continuity of insulation and reduces or eliminates heat loss through thermal bridges due to the building's load-bearing structure and facade-floor connections;

  • it increases the building's thermal inertia, enabling better recovery of solar heat gain and improved summer and winter comfort;

  • it increases the durability of facades by protecting them from temperature variations and the effects of water (rain, frost, condensation, etc.).
