2. FRP as passive reinforcement for reinforced concrete

2.1 Composite reinforcements

By combining thermosetting matrices (polyester, epoxy) with different fibers (glass, carbon) using pultrusion processing techniques, it is possible to produce composite reinforcements (bars of different cross-sections) for the reinforcement of concrete or other construction materials (figure 21 ).
