Cantre; Creel

Structure supporting a set of yarn bobbin holders (also called spindles) designed to form the warp yarn sheet to be gathered during warping.

Croisure; Lease

Operation consisting in distinguishing even and odd warp threads during the warping stage. This distinction is made on the weaving machine using two crossing sticks.

Warp end

A thread placed in the production direction on a weaving machine, designed to be raised or lowered to create the interlacing.

Ourdissoir ; Warping machine

Cylindrical drum on which the yarns contained in the creel bobbins are collected in sheets to form the warp beam.
