3. Test methodology and recommendations for intelligent textile systems

Intelligent textile systems can be tested both for quality and reliability. Before carrying out these tests, it is essential to determine which areas are likely to be tested.

Localized testing refers to test methods that cannot be used to test the entire intelligent textile system. This includes all test methods that require samples to be cut from the entire system, as well as test methods that can only be used to test selective areas of the entire system.

  • Affected and critical areas

    For features requiring localized testing, the affected and critical areas of the intelligent textile system must be identified. These areas should be marked on a technical drawing of the product, or clearly communicated in the test specification.
