5. Conclusion

As we have just seen, spark plasma sintering is an extremely promising technique for improving the shaping of all classes of existing materials (metals, ceramics, polymers) and their composites, but its field of activity can also be extended to the synthesis and assembly of new materials (nanocomposites, multimaterials, nanoceramics, etc.). This new technique, which has already been industrialized, notably in Japan where production lines operate continuously, is enabling technological advances in a wide variety of fields, including power electronics, structural materials, energy storage, biomaterials, aeronautics and aerospace.
