5. Characteristics of wood glues and adhesives

5.1 Application features

The characteristics of glues and adhesives are linked to the application systems: application and drying or curing;

  • All gluing chains have six or seven steps (see [BM 7 616, fig. 1] ):

    • surface preparation (parts cleaning, mechanical, physical or chemical preparation, etc.) ;

    • glue preparation, e.g. dissolving a powder, mixing the two components, adjusting viscosity, adding a filler for urea-formaldehyde glues;
