4. Make PPE available and maintain its effectiveness

The aim here is to ensure that the conditions under which PPE is used remain acceptable, that it complies with regulations and is used correctly.

PPE effectiveness must therefore be monitored. The type of maintenance (storage location, type of cleaning), the nature of use (duration and dates of use), checking for wear and tear, expiry or validity dates, will ensure that the PPE's characteristics are maintained. Effectiveness can also be certified over time by the proper medical monitoring of employees.
