8. How to take account of the "Dangerous for the aquatic environment" criterion?
The criterion of danger to the aquatic environment, indicated by a specific pictogram (see Figure "Pictogram – Dangerous for the aquatic environment"), must be studied additionally for each of the UN numbers chosen, as it is not linked to the intrinsic physico-chemical hazards of the substance taken into account for its transport classification.
The acute or chronic toxicity values of the material for aquatic species should therefore be studied, according to the criteria defined in § 2.2.9.1.10 of the ADR, and given by the test results or the material's MSDS.
