3. Serious eye damage-eye irritation

Serious eye damage and eye irritation are presented in CLP Annex I part 3.3.

Important

Substances which are corrosive to the skin (category 1 or subcategories 1A, 1B, 1C) are also considered to be capable of causing serious eye damage. They should also be taken into account in the additivity rule for the hazard class "serious eye damage and eye irritation".

In the case of a mixture composed of several constituents classified for this hazard and classified for skin corrosion, the percentages of these substances should be added together to determine the classification of the mixture. Several steps are necessary before concluding whether or not a mixture is classified.
