1. Define how you want to switch from the old to the new classification

Under the CLP regulation, classification is presented in the form of a DSD classification for substances or a DPD classification for mixtures (also known as the "old classification") and a CLP classification ("new classification").

Before you start determining the CLP classification, you need to define how you want to switch from DSD/DPD to CLP classification:

• If you have no data on your substance/mixture (e.g. toxicological values) but only the old classification, you will classify using Annex VII of the CLP Regulation. This method is discussed in the following steps.
