1. What are the consequences if multiple suppliers provide the same substance?
By diversifying your supplier base, you can diversify your status under REACH regulations. In some cases, you may be a downstream user and therefore not required to register your substance, while in other cases you may be an importer and therefore required to register your substance.

If you are a downstream user, you may find that some of your suppliers in the EEA include your uses in their registration dossiers, while others do not;
If you are an importer, you may exceed the one-ton import threshold for a substance by taking into account all of your imports; this threshold triggers the obligations related to placing the substance on the market.
