2. Actions on electronic equipment

Equipment is made up of discrete, passive or active elements (supports, cables, insulators, resistors, capacitors, semiconductor circuits, etc.).

Semiconductor-based active components are the most vulnerable to radiation.

2.1 Radiation and active electronic components

We will focus here on the "electrical disturbance" aspects of radiation-induced faults (electrical signals, drifts). Theoretical developments can be found in specialized articles, recent references to which can be found at the end of this document.
