3. Using the recognition agreement

The agreement is primarily used by accreditation bodies which accept, as proof of traceability to units of the international system of units, any calibration certificate bearing the logotype of one of the signatories of the EA regional agreement or the ILAC global agreement as equivalent (consequences of ILAC policy – P 10).

A calibration certificate is issued to optimize the intervals between two calibrations and to demonstrate the validity of the calibration, as well as traceability to the International System of Units (SI).

The measurement results mentioned in the certificate make it possible to determine any correction factors taken into account during measurement or included in the calculation of the uncertainty associated with the measurement result.
