12. Safety management in the age of digital revolution

The digital revolution is underway, and there's not a day goes by when it doesn't make the headlines. Its origins lie in the fact that any information (text, photo, sound, diagram) can be digitized, stored and sent via the Internet in the space of a click, using computers, smartphones and tablets. In just a few years, social networks have become communication spaces where every individual can express themselves and communicate freely (except in certain countries). Anyone can control systems remotely, drawing on the exponentially growing volume of information on offer.

The bursting of the "Internet bubble", which led to the collapse of certain stock market indices in 2000, reflects the unprecedented impact of this revolution on a global scale.
