2.1 Metrological characteristics
The links between a sensor and the quantity it measures are defined by its operating characteristics.
Measuring range. Absolute value of the difference between the extreme values that can be assumed by the quantity to be measured, for which the indications of a sensor, obtained within the nominal range of use in a single measurement, must not be subject to an error greater than the maximum tolerated error.
Minimum range, maximum range. Values of the quantity to be measured corresponding to the minimum and maximum limits of the measurement range.
