3. Evaluate vibration exposure
A number of questions will help you determine whether this risk exists.
Has an equipment manufacturer warned of a vibration risk?
Is a machine used for purposes other than those specified by the manufacturer?
Are one or more machines used for "long periods"?
Is an operator exposed to heavy shocks?
Are there any awkward work postures?
Have there been any complaints from employees?
Are the tools worn?
If the answers to these questions are in the affirmative (for those where the answer is possible), there is probably a vibration-related problem; it is therefore necessary to continue the vibration risk assessment....
