The separation principle of centrifugal gravimetric separation technology is applicable and effective for treating the fine fraction (< 80 μm) of a wide range of polluted sediments. Technically, centrifugal gravimetric separation equipment can be integrated into existing industrial treatment lines. However, when working with polluted sediments, these devices work outside OEM specifications. This raises questions about the conditions under which the materials are fed and discharged: are they capable of discharging a significant heavy fraction of 20-80% mass, rather than just a few mg/kg? Will the nature of the sediments hinder product evacuation (presence of downgrades = large particles that can clog equipment outlets)? Is the high dilution of the feed a handicap? etc. It is now essential to know the technical applicability of these solutions to this new field of use. These constraints...
