Definition of eco-design
There are many definitions of ecodesign, most of which have evolved over time and through feedback. This study refers to the most general definition: "A systematic integration of environmental aspects into the design and development of products (goods, services and systems) with the aim of reducing negative environmental impacts throughout their life cycle, while maintaining an equivalent or even better service. This upstream approach to the design process aims to find the best balance between environmental, social, technical and economic requirements, and product development" (AFNOR XP ISO/TR 14062 ).
