1. Water regulations

In view of climate change (more frequent droughts, resulting in lower groundwater levels) and global population growth, water resource management is a major challenge. It has become essential to maintain the "good ecological and chemical status" of aquatic environments. The need to preserve water resources is dictated by the Framework Directive 2000/60/EC of October 23, 2000. In France, the law of December 30, 2006 reinforces the obligation to maintain and restore aquatic environments.

70% of the drinking water we distribute is drawn from groundwater by drilling or from springs. The rest comes from surface waters (lakes and rivers). Taken from the natural environment, it is transported to refining plants, stored in reservoirs and then distributed to users.
