Risks are then tracked and monitored to identify any new risks that may arise.
Techniques such as gap analysis and trend analysis are used to check whether :
the project's basic assumptions have not changed and remain valid;
a risk has changed or can be eliminated;
provisions for contingencies must be reviewed and adjusted to reflect the new risk assessment.
