5. Our advice

The rotation welding method is often unfamiliar and seems restrictive; in fact, the only constraint is :

  • design the upper tooling to hold and rotate part A, and the lower tooling to immobilize part B, and allow heating at the parting line between A and B

Or

  • design the upper tooling and part A so that the first rotations are used to couple this sub-assembly, to rub against the immobilized lower part B, and to heat the materials at the joint between A and B.
