5. Conclusion – Outlook
The qualitative and quantitative characterization of grey water, and its comparison with other types of domestic wastewater, have shown the value of recycling grey water produced in bathrooms. Indeed, among the wastewater produced in the home, this water is the least contaminated, both in terms of organic pollutant load (COD ≍ 370 mg O 2 · L –1 ; BOD 5 ≍ 190 mg O 2 · L –1 ) and microbiological (there are around 550 CFU/100 mL of enterococci and fecal coliforms in this graywater).
What's more, the reuse of bathroom grey water would provide around 45 L of water per person per day for non-potable uses, which is roughly equivalent to the volume...
