5. Prevention
5.1 Definition of prevention
The aim of prevention is to reduce the constraints associated with physical activity. Prevention involves actions aimed at modifying work situations. It is based in particular on reducing locomotor stress by informing – companies and their employees about the risks and the means of eliminating them, or at least reducing them to an acceptable level. In particular, the aim is to eliminate all excessive stress arising from brief, intense general physical loads, or from light but prolonged or repetitive local physical loads. The prevention of risks linked to physical activities must reduce extreme physical constraints and try to preserve dynamic, harmonious physical activities which do not involve joint excursions or extreme forces.
