4. Waste management from an operational perspective

4.1 Internal management

Since waste is a "movable good", the first thing to think about is how to contain and transport it. Temporary storage must therefore be organized in such a way as to comply with the rules laid down in the French Environment Code, which are repeated or supplemented in the prescriptions decreed for sites subject to ICPE regulations:

  • classification and separation of waste by family ;

  • container labelling and identification of storage areas ;

  • protecting waste from rain and flying debris ;

  • protection of soil and wastewater systems against accidental spillage ;
