1. Definition of technical engineering

In its most general sense, engineering is defined as all the services involved in studying, designing and building a structure.

Specialist engineers can work either within a single speciality, generally as "consulting engineers", or within a larger, multidisciplinary structure, the "technical design office" or engineering company.

To define this type of engineering more precisely, we need to clarify its missions, services and main types of intervention.

The way in which a professional building engineering company operates and is organized is also presented below.
