2. Measuring stress

Stress is a subjective phenomenon, but that doesn't mean it can't be objectified. There is some debate as to whether it is possible and worthwhile to measure PSRs, and stress in particular, when they are subjective phenomena. However, many subjective symptoms, such as pain, are now routinely and rigorously measured by doctors. There is now a broad consensus that such measurements are useful for defining and prioritizing the problems to be solved, and deciding on the most appropriate course of action.
