2. Daily activities at home
Life is movement. Thus, the human being is a "mobile being" who reproduces a set of activities every day to meet his or her basic needs, but also higher aspirations. In the elderly, the ability to lead an independent life in one's own home depends on one's ability to carry out the basic actions involved in daily life autonomously: transferring oneself from/to bed and chair, moving in and out of the apartment, washing oneself, going to the toilet, and so on. There is thus a direct relationship between the number of activities a person can perform each day and their level of autonomy. In addition, some age-related illnesses (cognitive loss, mild dementia, Alzheimer's disease) have a direct impact on a person's ability to perform daily activities.
