Compton effect :

Scattering mode of an X-ray photon by inelastic collision with an electron

Direct detection :

X-ray detection using a photoconductor

Indirect detection :

X-ray detection using a scintillator

X-ray window :

Period during which the X source emits and the detector integrates.

Fluoroscopy :

Dynamic X-ray imaging (the equivalent of film)

Transfer Function :

Ratio between the output signal and the input signal of a detector, in space frequency space, i.e. the product of MTF and sensitivity (or gain).
