The surface integrity of a CAD/CAM-finished dental prosthesis can be considered as the residual signature left by the machining process used, which determines the quality of the prosthetic surface obtained. The surface and sub-layers can be characterized according to various components linked to the clinical functionalities expected by the practitioner and the patient.
