3. Conclusion

In France, the potential of the aromatherapy world remains immense. More and more consumers are undoubtedly being seduced by the properties of essential oils, and are likely to continue to be highly enthusiastic about these natural products.

The composition of an essential oil is extremely variable, due to the many factors and parameters involved from plant development to extraction and storage. It seems essential to take these variabilities into account in order to better select them for therapeutic purposes, especially as there are no regulations dedicated to aromatherapy products. At present, there are six completely different regulations covering these products, which can sometimes, albeit rarely, be applied cumulatively.
