2.1 Experimental setup
The experimental setup used for photodissociation is shown in Figures and . It consists of a commercial mass spectrometer (LCQ DUO MS N , Thermo-Fisher, Figure ) coupled to a wavelength-tunable laser beam. Ions from an electrospray source are guided by two octopoles and injected into a trap consisting of three electrodes: two cap electrodes and a central ring electrode. The laser used for photodissociation is an optical parametric oscillator (Panther OPO pumped by a Powerlite 8000 Continuum laser).
