3. Applications and implementation
The development of these microcapsules from water-in-water emulsions is relatively recent and still largely under study. No applications have yet been implemented. Current work focuses on the actual construction of these compartments. However, it is clear that numerous applications can be derived from the preparation of these microcapsules. These include cosmetics, pharmacology, food and more fundamental applications such as the synthesis of artificial cells. Generally speaking, all applications requiring the encapsulation of active ingredients can be carried out. Implementation involves the spontaneous sequestration of active ingredients in water-in-water emulsions, and the formulation of capsules to encapsulate these active ingredients.
