The dynamic growth of the disposable bioreactor market is a response to the need for improved return on investment and technological productivity. This new concept is gradually making inroads, as conventional, low-modulability installations are gradually being replaced by single-use equipment that offers flexibility and reactivity, while maintaining quality and safety standards. Cultural barriers are undoubtedly the biggest obstacle between traditionalists and modernists, but an assessment of the advantages and disadvantages of this new equipment helps to weigh up the risks and objectify the choices
