1. Techniques for assessing an asset's anti-pollution performance

In France, the term "allegation" has been defined by the Autorité de régulation professionnelle de la publicité (ARPP). The regulations specify that any claim made on cosmetic product packaging must be "supported by appropriate evidence, and that it is forbidden to attribute to products characteristics or functions that they do not possess. The efficacy of a cosmetic product must be established on the basis of data gathered on the ingredients and the finished product". In 2013, the European Union issued regulation 655/2013 defining the common criteria that cosmetic product claims must meet in order to be used. .
