5. General conclusion

The economic context linked to growing ecological constraints is forcing automakers and other equipment suppliers to develop more and more technologies and equipment sizing processes which must have an end-of-line impact on reducing carbon dioxide emissions and excessive consumption of raw materials, without compromising system safety.

With this in mind, this dossier shows how to safely and accurately size the many power supply harnesses used in on-board electrical and electromechanical systems, both in the automotive and aeronautical sectors, which are always on the lookout for maximum weight savings.
