5. Market outlook

For several decades, diesel has been the fuel of choice for heavy-duty drivers and industrial transport, while petrol has retained its comfort and performance appeal for the everyday user.

Gas fuel, in the form of LPGc and NGc, is a preferred alternative for captive and urban use, as it is significantly less polluting than conventional fuels, and thus makes an effective contribution to preserving the essential quality of the environment.

Research into the use of hydrogen in combustion engines is also underway [27][55] .

One sensitive point obviously concerns the additional costs associated with the current gas engine for road transport applications, on the one hand, and with setting up a suitable distribution...
