3. Natural gas fuel (NGc)

3.1 Market overview

The term vehicle natural gas is sometimes used to identify all natural gases intended for energy conversion in road propulsion engines. In France, in December 1992, Gaz de France, Ademe and the city of Nantes signed an agreement to set up a natural gas distribution station to refuel a captive fleet of vehicles. A favorable opinion from the Central Automobile Commission simultaneously led to a revision of the original 1964 regulations, and since 1994, renewed interest in this environmentally-friendly fuel has gradually emerged among local authorities, particularly in the Nantes, Paris and Toulouse conurbations.
