Conclusion/likely developments in the rail system

The interactions between sub-systems have already been described, but their behavior in terms of EMC is likely to change over time, and certain particular configurations are only revealed occasionally. Thus, the appearance of a problem relating to electromagnetic compatibility implies a search for the causes and modes of coupling. This search can only be efficient if knowledge is shared between the various players in the system. The examples presented here are drawn from experience feedback, and are typical of a systems approach. Other cases have been identified, and not all of them can be described here. The cases taken as examples illustrate the complexity of situations linked to large-scale installations, and highlight the fact that solutions to EMC problems can only be found through a compromise between "victims" and "aggressors".
