3.1 Partners and beneficiaries of rail transport

Within the limits imposed by the subject of this article, the main parties involved in rail interoperability as partners or beneficiaries are as follows:

  • travellers, especially those with special needs such as people with reduced mobility;

  • industries using railways to transport goods;

  • multimodal or combined transport companies;

  • suppliers of other modes of transport interfacing with rail, insofar as the interoperable exchange of data (timetables, ticketing) can create mutual benefits;

  • energy suppliers (e.g. interoperability of traction energy billing data)....
