4. Conclusion

This article presents the main approaches to multidisciplinary analysis and optimization. Starting with the formulation of a constrained optimization problem, the specificities induced by multidisciplinary optimization are described, motivating the development of dedicated algorithms. Finally, a design guide is proposed to facilitate the choice of suitable formulations, as well as resolution methods. Multidisciplinary optimization is a very active field of research, used in many industries (civil engineering, aerospace, automotive, etc.). The main current approaches concern the use of surrogate models, the consideration of discrete design variables, increasing the dimensionality of the problem and the management of uncertainties.
