Self-propelled vessel
A river unit with its own motorization and loading capacity, unlike a barge (without motorization) or a simple pusher or tug, which have no loading capacity.
Navigation dam
A dam designed on navigable rivers to regulate the water level in the diversion bays, generally combined with a lock to overcome the waterfall created by the dam.
Reach
Horizontal water level between two locks on a canal, with the upper reach representing the diversion reach.
Trucking
Trucking generally refers to short-distance road transport, whether urban, port or river.
