3. Approaches to censoring measurement values

Some laboratories use the method recommended in 3 . However, most of them, no doubt for fear of manipulating data below the decision threshold, and therefore insignificant or even negative, prefer to delete and/or substitute data when cumulating. A wide range of approaches are used, including some of the more commonly encountered ones presented in this paragraph.
