9. Current situation and developments

We could simplistically say that diffraction data collection (covered in the first article [P 1 110] ) is the last experimental step in biocrystallography. Indeed, if the data are of sufficient quality (crystal diffraction, redundancy, completeness) and if the information to solve the phase problem is present, the rest is made up of steps where human intervention is nowadays reduced to a minimum.
