6. Nuclear Overhauser effect

The Nuclear Overhauser Effect (NOE) is a major source of information in NMR.

Cross-dipolar relaxation is at the origin of the NOE. Solomon's equation is written below for the simplest case, that of an isolated pair of two nuclei A and S : $\frac{d A_{z}}{d t} = - ρ_{AS} (A_{z} - A_{z}^{o}) - σ_{AS} (S_{z} - S_{z}^{o})$
