7. Test weights

7.1 Precision class and tolerance

Weights are characterized by their conventional mass. This is equal to the total mass of the reference weights produced in a material with a density of 8,000 kg/m 3 , which balances the mass of this weight in air with a density of 1.2 kg/m 3 , the operation being carried out at 20°C.

Weights are divided into seven classes: E 1 , E 2 , F 1 , F 2 , M 1 , M 2 , M ...
