3.1 Ergonomics
Weighing environments and the way scales are used can jeopardize health and productivity. For example, prolonged and repetitive weighing tasks can be carried out by the operator in awkward postures, with mechanical overloads and heavy visual concentration. Eye disorders and musculoskeletal disorders (upper limbs and neck) are the most common laboratory injuries.
To protect operators' health and optimize productivity, the work environment and the equipment used must be configured according to basic ergonomic rules.
