4. Main instrumental techniques

The spectro-imager collects the incident photons, finely disperses them according to wavelength, and records them in a detector. Several techniques exist, classified into five main families. The first four families described below are based on dispersive techniques, while the last is based on interferometry.

4.1 Continuously variable filter spectrometer
