5. Conclusion

The relatively recent bond graph tool is starting to be used in a significant way in the industrial world, and more particularly in companies in the automotive sector.

The growing need for multi-disciplinary physical models, the vital need to capitalize on knowledge in model libraries, and the new concern to take into account control and operating safety aspects right from the design stage, all point to a significant development of industrial applications for this tool, which frees engineers from the vicissitudes of mathematical modeling and enables them to focus on the structural and sometimes generic properties of what they are designing.
