 INTRODUCTION

In today's increasingly competitive business environment, reducing production costs and increasing the reliability, availability and dependability of systems have become essential to boosting the productivity of industrial processes. In this context, automation plays a key role. Indeed, the establishment of models enabling the application of optimization techniques to satisfy production criteria falls directly within this field.

In addition, the application of diagnostic techniques to provide the necessary information to enable intervention on the system, in the event of the appearance of abnormal operation, which could compromise the system's reliability, safety or performance, is also an indispensable task on the road to increased competitiveness.

This dossier looks at the application of a complex system: PEMFC (Polymer Electrolyte Membrane Fuel Cell) fuel cells.
